As the President of the Michigan
Orthopaedic Society (MOS), I would like to welcome and thank
you for visiting our website! MOS has the distinguished
honor of receiving the Orthopedic State Society of the Year
from the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. This
accomplishment would not be possible without the help of
many volunteers and our Executive Director, Pam Dietrich.
The current initiatives the MOS is pursuing for
orthopedic care and education include.

The Annual Fall Meeting featuring Stuart Weinstein, past President
of the AAOS

The Annual Summer Meeting featuring Don Wiss, a national expert in
trauma care
• Legislative advocacy to insure that citizens in the state of
Michigan have access to musculoskeletal care
• Residency scholarship program for the benefit of the many
training programs in this state
• Advocacy to
maintain the liability favorable for patient care in Michigan
• Advocacy to assure that both auto and health insurers in this
state honor their obligation to the care of orthopedic patients in
the state of Michigan
• Advocacy to promote and protect patient welfare in Michigan
• Local CME meetings to satisfy the requirements of Maintenance of
Certificate
• Direct advocacy with Senators and Representatives in Washington
DC
• Membership Directory with subspecialties to foster colleague
communication
