VISION STATEMENT

  • The MOS will focus on education at our annual summer and fall meetings.
  • The MOS legislative efforts will continue to protect the services we offer to our patients.
  • The MOS will maintain a membership database to promote interaction between the orthopaedic surgeons in the state of Michigan in the best interest of patient care.

MEMBER BENEFITS

Our members’ involvement and support of the MOS will enable our association to provide the following for you in 2020:

  • Presentation of a minimum of three programs: Annual Scientific Meeting, Fall Education Program and Orthopaedic Trauma Program. The MOS offers more than 20 category 1 CME credits annually. The 2020 Annual Scientific Meeting will be at The Grand Hotel in Mackinac which now has new owners.
  • Representation of the society’s voice at meetings with key legislators, provide testimony at committee hearings, monitor all legislation introduced in Michigan to continue to preserve the quality of care provided today in our orthopaedic practices. MOS PROTECTS YOUR PRACTICE FROM SCOPE OF PRACTICE EXPANSION AS WE DID WITH THE PODIATRISTS IN 2019. MOS has continuously limited direct access by other specialties in recent years.
  • Communication of our voice on Capitol Hill in Washington preserving patient access to in- office ancillary services and increasing Congressional awareness of the growing prevalence of musculoskeletal diseases.
  • Timely updates and calls to action to support state legislation through our email blasts, legislative breakfasts and meetings in representatives’ districts.
  • Ability for you and your partners to present, or participate in panel discussions, on your specialty at our educational meetings. In order to participate, membership dues must be current.
  • In 2019, our active involvement resulted in the resolution for no-fault auto insurance due to conversations with the Governor and key legislative leaders in the House and Senate. We have been the leading voice as an association to keep this coverage strong for over 18 years.
  • Representation through our MOS lobbyist, Rob Elhenicky with Kelley Cawthorne, on unified issues with the state medical association and Certificate of Need (CON) work groups.
  • Access to help from our network by contacting a board member or Tammi Connell, Executive Director.
  • Updates through our email blasts, newsletters and website (www.mosonline.org).
  • Access to the Member Directory that highlights the practice of our members and their specialties.

MOS DUES ARE ONLY $400 TO RECEIVE ALL OF THESE MEMBER BENEFITS!
